Hello!
This week we have been learning more about chocolate including learning about Mr Cadbury and chocolate factory production in the 1800's. We learned that children used to work in factories and that Mr Cadbury was one of the first factory owners to build a hospital and housing for his workers. We also listened to a news report about cocoa farmers in Madagascar and how some farmers are having to put their cocoa pods in their homes as people are stealing their cocoa because it is so valuable in Madagascar. If you have any chocolate wrappers that you have at home please send them in we would love to decorate our wall with them. Please none with nuts.
We have also had a wonderful week of writing. Students have been writing three page stories using adjectives, verbs and time connectives. To celebrate our wonderful writing we have read our stories to our class mates and we invited 2B in to listen to our stories also. You are invited to come and read your child's story it is hanging proudly on the wall inside our classroom.
Home work
Just a reminder that the red homework book has the spellings stuck in to it on Mondays and is sent home. It should stay home all week until Friday. On Friday it will come in with completed spellings and the writing homework that can be found every Monday on the website. The Maths homework will also come back to school on Fridays and will be given to your child's Maths teacher.
Next week
Friday 28 September - last day of school for our friend Ava and last day before holidays.
