This week, we have put our minibeasts on hold in order to prepare the classroom for Chinese New Year. During the beginning of the week the children spent time making their "blossom tree" pictures, carefully blowing black ink across the page with a straw and then adding small balls of crepe paper to represent the blossom. Some of these will be displayed in the open area outside Mr. Pickhaver's Puma class, whilst the rest will be in pride of place in our class.
Our second Chinese piece of art has been the painting of Junk boats. Next week, in continuation of our Adventurers and Explorers topic, we will be looking at some of the travels of the famous Chinese explorer Zheng He. This will also be preparing the children for our next school trip! Once plans have been finalized for the trip further details will be sent home.
