Post-UN Week

Write about what you did last week.  Did you or your friends parent come to talk? Which countries did you learn about? Can you remember what you learnt! What was your UN day costume? Did you have fun singing and being in the parade?  Don't forget to write in sentences and trying to use adjectives to describe the highlights of your UN Week!

UN WEEK

The children will be visiting all of the Year 2 Classrooms as well as being able to travel around the rest of DUCKS on UN Day! Can they write 3 sentences about what they have learned as well as three questions they would like to find out about? Remember to use capital letters, full stops and questions marks.

Draw a plan!

This week we would like the children to draw a map of their bedroom as though they are Spiderman stuck to the ceiling! They completed this activity in class last week and drew a map of our classroom which is an odd shape so proved rather difficult! Remember Spiderman can only see 2D shapes! Remember to use a ruler to help you draw straight lines and label your maps when you have finished. Have fun!

Describing Settings

Our Literacy activity this week is encouraging the children to explore adjectives to describe a setting. From the picture brainstorm some describing words for what they can see and, using their imagination, what they might smell or hear. They can then take those adjectives and write a few sentences to describe the setting like they have been reading from stories in class. Can you paint a picture in your mind of the setting from the sentences you have written?
