Message from Monday 9th September (moved from the main page)
The children in Giraffes will have brought home some homework tonight!! We have talked about what I expect from them with regards to this...
Spellings - write once each night (think about your handwriting and follow the look, cover, say, write, check procedure. You can think about sentences with these words in them and your child might want to try and write these sentences too, but this is not compulsory. The aim of this homework is for children to be confident and accurate when spellings these words, so once they get them all correct in the spelling test on Friday, then they can move on to the next set of spellings. If they need a further week of practice, then they will get the same spellings again.
Topic - as we did work on food we were eating and healthy and unhealthy I would like the children to complete a food diary. I have asked your child to complete two days of information, but I am very happy if they would like to complete more - but this is not compulsory!
Encourage your child to do a little at a time, especially if the work is particularly challenging for them.
Maths - please check with your child for this homework, as it was given to them by their maths teacher.
PLEASE RETURN HOMEWORK BOOKS ON FRIDAY!
