Students have been making predictions and measuring. On Monday students used a piece of string to measure their body length. They then made predictions of how many of their body lengths would it take to go from one end of the courtyard to the other end. At first the predictions were extravagant, but with more practise the students were better able to make more accurate predictions and use the string more accurately to measure the different distances. Students have also been practising solving a variety of number stories involving British currency.
At home you can also encourage investigations and use of local currency. Have your child make a money box and encourage them to save and regularly count the money in their money box.
