The first week back after the mid term break has gone well, with the children succeeding with a variety of activities that included:
reading, correct sentence writing, handwriting and spelling in their Literacy time.
The children also discovered and learned more information about continents, namely how they were formed (and what they will look like in the future!), the continental drift, and the man that discovered this phenomenon, Alfred Wegener. Two links are included below that you and the children may want to look at regarding reinforcing their knowledge of the continents. Also, two videos have been added that show information about the continents and the continental drift.

Aidan Liu (see picture below) also brought in a book called “One Grain of Rice” which we all enjoyed. The book is an entertaining one all about a rather mean Indian Raj, who basically cheats his village out of their rice, and then loses it all to a ‘simple’ village girl. The story very cleverly also gives us a Maths lesson in doubling, which is something some of the children have been learning in recent times. Thanks Aidan!
*As you can see below, I have included MANY websites that you may wish to use now, or in the future. Apparently, we may not be able to access the weebly in the next few weeks to add information and updates as they may be working on the site to rectify some faults that have been occurring. Hopefully, this will not be for too long, and we can get back to updating you all the weekly Tiger news.
Best wishes for a happy weekend,
Greg
