Your Homework this week is to practice your 2 x tables using your knowledge of doubling and halving. Please complete a small amount of the booklet each day and hand it back once you are finished. It does not have to be completed by this Friday however new homework will be issued the following Monday.
Week beginning 21st October 2013
Look at the different animals in the zoo. Can you cut and stick them into the right column? Now try to answer the questions on the next page.
Week beginning October 14th 2013
Look at the word problems, what calculations do you need to solve the problem? Can you give your answer in pence? Challenge yourself; which coins would you use to make that amount?
Week beginning October 7th 2013
Can you name and describe the different 3D shapes using the language from last week; faces, edges and corners?
Week beginning September 23rd 2013
Please complete the doubling worksheet with your child and then have a go at working out the near doubles! Remember you can use your knowledge of doubles to help work out near doubles! The final column is the same number equation but the digits are in a different order! Is your answer still the same? Yes because addition can be done in any order!
The second activity is working out halves by crossing out the objects if needed. Continue to the challenge if you feel up to it and find half of numbers 10 - 20. Can you record the half in the form of a number equation? eg. Half of 14 is 14 - 7 = 7
If you would like an extra challenge then have a go at playing the doubles games. You will need 2 dice and 2 colouring pencils. Have fun! :)
