This week we have been using all of our knowledge about minibeasts to write our own poems. I have been amazed by how well the class have thought about this and how much effort they have put into the presentation of their work. This work has been supported by the homework the children have been doing, and it has been lovely to see the children so excited by nature and the world around them.
We wrote a poem as a class before starting our own. Here it is...
The Ladybird
Spotty Ladybird crawling on the soft grass,
Lovely rose red wings shining brightly,
Look and leave.
Buzz, hum, zzzz very quietly drifting,
Flying in and out of the wavy green grass,
Look and leave.

On Thursday, the children were sent off on a mission to make notes on Chinese New Year Traditions. To do this they visited all of the Year 2 classrooms and developed a deeper understanding of these important traditions. Have a look at some of the pictures!
