Homework this week involves researching an animal. The questions have been inserted in the red homework book. We will be using the research you find to create your own nonfiction book "All About [animal]...." just like when you researched about explorers and we used the information to make posters.

  • You can choose your own animal.
  • There are three pages of questions to answer - therefore you have this week and the weekend to complete the research - bring in the research on Monday 18th.
  • You can use the internet or books to answer the questions. You can not make up your own answers.
  • If you like during library time on Wednesday you can borrow a book from the library about your animal.
  • If you have any questions please let me know before the end of the week.

Homework week of 4 March...

Sorry about the delay in getting this out to you.

This week's homework is to write an alternative ending for the story "Room on a Broom"

In the original the witch picks up a frog, cat, bird and dog and flies through the skies on a broom. The broom stick snaps in two and the animals fall off. While the witch is falling through the clouds a dragon tries to eat the witch "I am a dragon as mean as can be, and I'm planning to have witch and chips for my tea!". The animals all come together and scare the dragon away. Then they make a spell to rebuild the broken broom.

Students need to rewrite the end of the story....what happens after the dragon says "I am a dragon as mean as can be, and I'm planning to have witch and chips for my tea!" ?
