On Thursday we were lucky to share in Zoelle's birthday celebration. She is now 7 million years old!! Happy birthday Zoelle!!
In topic we have been discussing the need and history of food packaging, as well as the problems caused by all of this fabulous new packaging. If you have a chance please ask your child what they learned about packaging for food this week.
- Monday; 9.00-10.00 Sports Day!! Please wear sports uniform. Parents welcome.
- Year 2 officially start UN week. Many parents have signed up to talk about their home country. We are all booked up now. However with some bribery we might be able to fit one more in, let me know if you are desperate to come in and share your stories/experiences from your country.
Looking further ahead
- Wednesday 24 October: Parade Day. Students to come in dressed in clothes from their home country. Parade starts at 9.00am. After the parade students and parents are invited to go and visit other classrooms "Countries" to do different activities. Myself and Ms. Zhu will be in our classroom running activities and will not be available to take your child around to the other classrooms, so if you are unable to come on this day, you can either ask another parent to buddy up with your child or let me know and I will organise a specialist teacher to take your child to the other classes. 2P students will not visit any year 2 classes as they will have had time to do the same activities during Numeracy time this same week. After the activities we will set up our classroom for a UN luncheon. Please bring in a plate of food, from your home country, to share. Parents invited to eat with us. We hope to be eating from 11.30-12.30.
