Part One of the homework was counting.
Part Two.....
We decided that we were very good at adding, using our fingers or counters, some people could even do sums in their head! As we were so confident, we practised 'counting on' using a number line.
Parents if you could ask your child to place their finger on the starting number (say 10) and 'jump' 3 more to find the answer. The children can be rabbits, kangaroos or frogs, it doesn't matter as long as they see that they are 'jumping' along the number line. For this reason the sums may be a little easy, as I would like your child to be able to focus on and understand how this method works.
